Culture Inspired

I love this new dress that Anthropologie has put out for sale by Rina Dhaka. This dress, a very inspired 70s, and a piece of India's culture.

I would love to pair them with these shoes from Coclico

What is your favorite culture for clothing and accessories?

Giggles

I wanted to show this mini video for a few reasons.

1. I love this black and white stripped sequin shirt.
2. My lovely Urban Outfitter jeans that I found hidden in a sales rack.

Today ended up being a gorgeous day where I got to wear my skirt from American Apparel around the office and my old navy polo for when I golfed this afternoon.

Gonna watch a good flick tonight.

Neon Colors

I am super excited for American Apparel's Limited Edition nail polishes. Since I have been in such a neon color mode, I will be ordering these before the end of the week.

They remind me of the 90's, and will go perfect with a pretty romper.

Motorcycle Ride

Jordan and I have been religiously watching this motorcycle show together over the past week. Now, all he can think about is getting a motorcycle. So this outfit is if he is to get a motorcycle, I have something to wear.

Hope you enjoy.

Blazers and Handbags

I am in a serious need for some new items for what will hopefully be Jordan and I's new apartment. One item that I am in desperate need for is a new blazer. I love blazers but I only have one, seems crazy right? It just seems so great that you can have a t-shirt and jeans, but throw on a blazer and a pair of heels and your dressed up. I think this is what I want to wear when I drag Jordan out to wine tasting this year in the Finger Lakes.

I found this adorable blue cotton blazer, that is a must have for this Spring and Fall season.

Of course, you must have a bright colored accessory with a neutral blazer. I found this lovely crossbody that is the perfect fit. I love the blushing orange and the chain link strap. Marc Jacobs has such great style, slightly expensive, but great to purchase through Bluefly.

If you are more a neutral, and stray away from bright colors, I would suggest the Rose crossbody. The color is still as beautiful as the orange, but gives the bag a toned down feel.

What items do you need to buy?

Spring Fever

I am normally such a fan of florals and light colors for Spring, but when my mother and I went shopping this weekend I kept pointing to bright colors, from green to orange. I love these picks from Zara, my new favorite store.

What are your favorite colors this Spring?

Katharine Hepburn

One of my favorite movies is The Philadelphia Story and it may be because the three main characters are my favorite actors and actress from that time period. Katharine Hepburn was a gorgeous woman and had this amazing menswear style. I had to make a look for this style.

American Apparel: Top, Pants, Belt and Bag
Aldo: Loafers

Do you have any favorite movies from the 1930s or 1940s?

If today wasn't so cold...

I found this outfit that would be the best for going to see the horses, or possibly riding in a horse carriage. There are a few of those in some surrounding areas, so that may be a date Jordan and I should have once the weather cooperates and is not so muddy, rainy and breezy.

Today we went to visit Jordan's mother, and here are some pictures from our trip that will help you understand this horrible weather in New York State.

Summer Breeze Inspiration

I was very inspired today by black and white stripes. I bought this adorable black and white strip sequin cropped shirt from ModCloth. I was also inspired by Flashes of Style's outfit post.

For both of these, I have came up with this outfit that I would like so much.

ModCloth: Watch, Wedges, Satchel
Ruche: Top, Pants

I am so very happy it's Friday. Hopefully I will have some outfit photos this weekend if the weather would clear up.

Buttons + Earrings = Adorable

One of my best friends and her fiance created button earrings a couple of years back. I loved the idea, so I finally got some buttons, a couple tools and some earring backs and this is what I created.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the above earrings, they are $5.00 per set. If you do not see the earrings you like, but have an idea of what you would like, I can make those earrings custom made for you. Please contact me via email at tabatha@Ohwhataboutthis.com

A Necessity, Well Actually 5

My favs, My Necessities

I love the Le Sac dress. It's great for dressing up, down, comfy or sexy. You can wear this dress so many different ways with so many accessories that you would never have to wear it the same, and it's a plus that the dress comes in several colors. American Apparel is such a great clothing company, thanks to my friend Margaret for introducing us.

A t-shirt is always my favorite to wear with skirts and jeans, especially on days that I am not really wanting to do much of anything. It's all about the style of the t-shirt I think that represents you as a person, from the v-neck to the screen prints to the bands on your shirt. Check out one of my favorite bands, Minus the Bear.

Vintage dresses are my ultimate obsession. I love that you can take something from someone's past and make it your own, even by making personal cuts and hems. I suggest checking out Fancy Treehouse's store, I have bought a few things from her and am always on the lookout.

When I hear Spring, I immediately think of shorts. I was never a person to wear shorts, I think because I was very uncomfortable in my skin, so more skin was a no-no. Something changed and I decided I LOVE SHORTS. I was in a mall close to my apartment with Jordan and we walked by Delias. I haven't been there in a couple years, but immediately stopped when I saw these adorable floral print shorts. I decided that in the next coming weeks I must buy them. I can't see buying them yet, because in Upstate New York State, the weather is not sure if it wants to be warm yet.

Last but not least, is pretty rompers. I love these simple, yet great style pleasing outfits. It's great for a coverup at the beach or a lovely stroll down our Park Avenue. This treasure can be found on ModCloth.

What are your top favorite items that you think will never go out of style for you?!

Thanks,
Tabatha

Washed Away To Sea

I am sure you know the question, if you were stranded on a desert island what would be the five things you want with you? Well this is not the question I am going to ask, but I am going to ask, what would you want to be wearing if you were stranded on a desert island. I pulled three looks that I think are adorable and hope you will too.

The outfits are from J. Crew. They have the greatest looks in their line right now.
The bracelets are from Kiel James Patrick line. The best bracelets, they just make me want to lay on a beach or get on a boat.

Thanks,
Tabatha

Freckles and Floral Tops

The other day Jordan took this picture of my standing outside his apartment and I wasn't going to put it up, but then I thought about how much I love my freckles and I never get to see them so I figured I would post anyway.

Forever 21 Shirt & Tank
This was the first day that I could wear a sheer top and not freeze this Spring, still waiting for the next day.
Jordan and I will be planning a vacation after we move in June, any suggestions?

Hikes and Picnics

Jordan and I made a trip to Walmart tonight to see if I could find a basket for my bike, which unfortunately I didn't find. I did find this adorable picnic basket that I could not help but buy.

Here is Allie playing with the basket.

I found these great brunch recipes, that I want to make for Jordan and I, if we can make it to the park this week. We were going to have our first bike ride tonight, but the wind and thunder was rolling in tonight, so we didn't get to go. Check out these great recipes!

Rebel Without a Cause

Today I kept thinking about the past, past lives, past times. I am in love with the celebrities and characters from the 50's. One of my big favorites, the reason for my post today is James Dean. He was such a great actor and had such a sad ending to his life.

I love the 1940's BMW motorcycle, which I told Jordan he should buy this one since he wants to get one. The pretty floral tank and shorts are from Urban Outfitters, boots are from Forever 21 and the James Dean jacket is from Ruche.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Tabatha

Closet Style

The other day, I heard a song on the radio that played in Clueless. I had this sudden urge to have Cher's closet, not only the automated carousel, but just the lovely 90's designs. I decided to make some collages to show two of my favorite outfits that Cher wears throughout the movie.

Turn the Corner in Seychelles

I am in the need of some new shoes, preferably wedges and heels for summer. I stumbled across the Seychelle's Footwear website, and fell in love with their shoes. I love creating collages so I created these of my top favorites heels/wedges. I think the best shoes are simple but slightly quirky, which may be why I love all these. The colors are gorgeous and would work well with many of my new shorts and skirts I have bought for this summer.

On another note, I am getting super excited for this weekend as I will be using the good old sewing machine to try out some new shorts and skirt ideas. Do you have any color suggestions? Patterns? I am a huge fan of florals and strips.

What do you think?

Orchids & Carnations

I love picked flowers over paid flowers, although I do love carnations and orchids. I am very excited now that the weather is getting warmer here and I can finally stop wearing heavy winter coats, though we still have to wear sweatshirts and sweaters.

Ruche has out their garden collection and I am so very excited and inspired with my coming collection of shorts. I am determined over the next coming months to have created my own shorts. I was never much of a shorts wearer when I was younger, actually until just recently have I started buying and wanting to wear shorts.

Here are some of my favorite outfits put together by Ruche.

I want this umbrella and rain boots.

The v-neck is a perfect fit with the pattern of the shirt.

Purple is my favorite color, so I love how this skirt pops with color.

I want to be wearing this yellow belt with quite a few outfits I have.

I'm not much of a hat wearer, but I want this whole outfit, including the hat.

I hope you all enjoyed my top picks. Check out the Ruche shop, they have many more adorable things.

Pizza

My parents were recently in NYC, and even though they never left the airport, I was very jealous for many reasons.
One being, the shopping. You can get amazing finds in NYC. Awesome little shops or if you even like the major shopping areas, you can get that one big purchase you have been dreaming of over the past year.
Second being, the food. Even though it may be more expensive, I love new york style pizza.

What made me want to write about this tonight is that I made some homemade pizza and while it could have had some improvements, it was more of a thrown together pizza because I was hungry after a full day of work and a workout at the gym.

I did some research just on pizza, and I found this really good recipe from Martha Stewart that I think you should check out.

What is your favorite pizza recipe?

Deer Tails and First Outfit Post!

Today I got to travel to Ithaca, and the weather cooperated so well, I was so excited. The travel time took about an hour through the back roads of empty towns. We stopped the car so I could take pictures of these beautiful white deer

Once we got to Ithaca, we first went to Collegetown Bagel / Ithaca Bakery. We bought sourdough bread. It was delicious. Then we went to all the lovely shops at The Commons. I found an amazing red cape jacket at House of Shalimar, that I got talked me into buying. I'll make sure to post pictures soon!

Then I finally got to my first outfit photo shoot against these really pretty walls in the alley near The Commons.
