Date Days

I love that when I search for dresses, the first thing that I do is say, what could I do in this dress that I haven't done in 1. a long time or 2. never done before. Here are some dresses that I found with some great ideas that I would love to do on a date day with Jordan.

Raspberry Turnovers

I love little shops that are hidden in small towns and have the greatest treasures. That's what it was like when Jordan's mother showed me Lantz's Bulk Foods. They have sprinkles for every occasion or any color, filling in almost any flavor, snacks, baking spices, and to top it off, they have a restaurant that serves some of the best food. If you are ever in Upstate New York and need a place to visit, and love to bake I suggest this place.

I bought this great raspberry filling from Lantz's BF and now I want to make turnovers every day because the taste is so amazing. I am sure if you get raspberry filling from a store near you, then you would be able to follow these VERY easy instructions.

Three Ingredients Needed: Egg White, Puff Pastry Sheets (Find in the frozen section), and Raspberry Filling (you can choose any flavor

Start with Puff Pastry Sheet, cut into 4 equal squares. You can cut these smaller if you would like smaller turnovers, but I find that this size is perfect for an after dinner snack.

On the four squares, in the middle, drop about 1 1/2 tablespoons of filling.
Fold one corner over the the opposite corner, as if you wanted to make a triangle.
Use the egg white and press the two outside edges with a fork.
Spread just a little of the egg white on top of the turnovers.
Cook for 20 minutes in an oven at 350.

Then here is your lovely turnover

Long Time

Hey Everyone, I am sorry for the lack of a post for the past week. I have been so busy with painting the old apartment back to white for the next tenant, that I haven't been able to take a few moments and turn back on our internet, until today! It's such a gorgeous day outside, so this post won't be too long. In the midst of all my packing, I was looking at my shoes, and realized I really do not have that many pairs of shoes. I have flip flops in about any color you could want, but not not enough sandals, heels, flats, boots, etc. I was on a mission this morning to put together a collage of my most top wanted shoes at the moment. Here you go!

Pale Yellow

I saw this pale yellow VW beetle convertible a couple weeks ago while pulling into my work complex, and all I want now is pale yellow colors. I love how I can be inspired by almost anything. I really need some new color choices in my wardrobe, which is why I bought an adorable skirt from Twitch Vintage and can't wait for it to come in the mail, it's pale yellow, of course.

What are your color choices from the summer?

What do you think of the new 2012 VW beetles? They remind me of cars from the 1950s.

A Chair for Life

With only less than a month to move, I am getting so anxious. Since I will be having my own studio/office, I am trying to find the perfect pieces, and I am currently in search of a chair. A chair can mean everything in the studio, your style, your comfort, your life even some days, when you work until the wee hours of the night, and the bright and early mornings. I gathered a few of my favorites, to give me some ideas. Jordan and I am sure will be on a vintage hunt through the tiny towns with great antique furniture shops around my city.

Crops and Bows

With the summer on the horizon and the weather warming up, I am in need of some new crops. I really love bows so finding pants and shirts with bows always get my excitement raised. I guess I found quite a few yellow/grey outfits. Here are some of my new outfit ideas, what do you think?

Telling Time

This week has been super busy, as I have been traveling for work, which was great. I am glad to be back home and back to my routine. Due to my busy schedule and trying to tell how much time I have, I decided I really should get a new watch. I used to have this adorable watch that I wore everyday made by Roxy. Since I couldn't find that specific watch that I loved so much, I have come up with these possible choices, what do you think?

Different Prints

It's only a few weeks until our move, and I am getting excited by the day. While we were checking out furniture, we had to make the decision about what kind of table we wanted for the dining room. We decided on making a farm table (Jordan is a great woodworker) with matching benches. After talking, we needed something else, so we decided on getting these chairs (or making something close to them) for the ends of the table.

What do you think?

He's a natural

He is so photogenic, and he loves getting his pictures taken. This is one of my babies, Caeden. Thought you would all enjoy some pictures of him. He is a shih-tzu, who just turned 5 this year. I have had him since a baby.

Outfit 05.05.2011

Today we bought our new sofa, chair, coffee table, end tables and mattress, which means about a month until moving day! I am super excited.

Today was a beautiful day, the sunshine was finally out! I really wanted to be extra comfy today, so this t-shirt/skirts combo was perfect. Since the floral skirt I have is slightly see-through (which would be completely inappropriate at my place of employment) I decided to put another Urban skirt that I had underneath, worked out great.

Sweater: Moda International
Flats: Target
Skirts (yes, two): Urban Outfitters

ModCloth Maxis

I am in no way a tall girl, and was always afraid to wear long dresses and or skirts, but these ModCloth maxi's are great.

For this dress, I love this contrasting pattern design. The bottom reminds me of a pretty tablecloth, love it!

This bright skirt is great for a day of picnics and walking around the town.

This dress is like the skirt above, but I love the lace top covering, it gives it that something extra.

I love animalistic print! It brings out that experimental side in me. I have these great black high (very high actually) heels that would look great with this maxi dress.

Madewell

I was very excited when I stumbled upon the Madewell. The site has gorgeous items that are perfect for any occasion. I feel in love with these items, perfect for a night out and a fun day date.

Check out their adorable pieces. What's one site that made you excited?

Met Gala 2011

I love every piece that was put out at the 'Savage Beast' Met Gala 2011 honoring Alexander McQueen's great designs. So how do you choose a favorite? I must say that it was a very hard decision, but these were my two top favorites.

My favorite outfit at the Met Gala is by far Hilary Rhoda in Alexander McQueen. She looks gorgeous and elegant, I would wear that anyday!

New Places, New Things

Moving day will be coming in about a month, because J. and I have gotten a new place. I am excited to buy all new things and decorate, but I am super excited because I will have a studio for crafting and fashion photos as well as a wall to wall closet.

Our kitchen is going to be better as well, where I can stand around, drink a glass of wine and make fun treats. I found this Kitchenaid mixer that I am going to be getting.

It's going to match my kitchen so well.

I can't wait to get my new studio so that I can show you more of my day to day fashion.
